For 8 years, the full-fledged electronic music festival Ekinox Spring Festival been attracting crowds of electronic music enthusiasts from the Baja California region of Tijuana/Mexicali/Rosarito/Ensenada, who kick-off their spring season to the tune of synthesized beats that go on all day and night long.

This year’s festival takes place this weekend on March 30th and 31st in arid and free-spirited Rosarito Beach, Mexico, located 20 miles south of the San Diego/Tijuana border.  The year’s lineup includes over 40 DJs, including LA local acts like Dean Paul and Raíz, as well as international DJs like Digital Talk from France and PHNTM from the Czech Republic, who collectively represent electronic music subgenres ranging from techno and deep house to psytrance and everything in between.

Organizers are expecting 3000 people to attend the 2013 edition, which will have a Mayan “new era” theme as well as camping on the beach, LEDs and visuals. The best part about the festival is that it will only set you back 270 pesos, or 22 dollars. A mash-up of last year’s festival can be seen below:
