Hopefully you have heard of Banda de Turistas by now, if not, stop and brace yourself for a psychedelic trip. The band of Argentine retro rockeros made their U.S. debut this past summer at the 2009 Latin Alternative Music Conference in New York City, where they caught audience attention for their unique retro sound and style.
With two albums already released in their native Argentina, Banda de Turistas has just released their first album, Mágico Corazón Radiofónico in the U.S. through Nacional Records. Lucky for you, the album will also contain songs from their latest release El Retorno that experiments with disco beats reminiscent of the 70’s. Next stop for Banda: SXSW Festival in Austin in March.
