On his newest release as Teen Flirt, David Oranday made a significant departure from his hybrid of tropical bass/chillwave as seen on Promises/Float to explore R&B territory, counting on support from friends like Denise Gutiérrez of Hello Seahorse! to sweeten the deal.
The video for their collaboration, “Her Fake Name is Sofia,” features warm, natural-lit direction by Mexico City’s Irma Ruiseñor and photography direction by Galo Olivares, to complement Gutiérrez’s breezy styling, creating a visual account feeling like a series of stolen moments of solitude and longing.
