Fania Records’ Armada Fania series, a summer-long event series across the five boroughs in celebration of the labels’ 50th anniversary, is set to close out with one of their last parties of the summer with DJ tribute to the label this Sunday, August 24th at Central Park’s SummerStage. The event was added to replace the All Stars concert that was canceled earlier this month.

What’s sure to be a classic New York dance party will be headlined by world-renown Fania master remixer Joaquin “Joe” Claussell, known for his “Hammock House” remix series, NYC fixture/DJ/radio host Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love, and the Boston-based DJ/producer duo The Whiskey Barons, who released their Funky Sabroso EP recently on the iconic label’s catalog. Hold tight for one more very special guest, which will be announced this Friday before the event.

Doors open at 5 PM for the free outdoor party [full info here], and you can head over to SOB’s for the afterparty with The Whiskey Barons and DJ Wasabi ($10, starting at 10:30 PM).
