Remix EPs are always a gamble. What if the reinvented versions are too different or just not that exciting? Thankfully, this isn’t the case with Fernanda Ulibarri’s latest release, átOma Remixes, featuring four remixed tracks. The bittersweet sounds of “Hoy” become a lively stroll through the park at the hands of Play & Movil. “Corro” loses the urgency but none of the energy of the original thanks to Doctor Record, who gives the track a house remake. Meanwhile, “Se Satura Mi Cabeza” takes a turn for the hipster-hop with Origami’s remix, and Beat Buffet gives “Cancion Animal” the sexy, electro-lounge treatment.
