The Festival Bananada returns to the city of Goiânia, Brazil for its 17th edition to celebrate music, art, film, skateboarding, and gastronomy from all over the world. The announcement came earlier today during Festival NRMAL’s NODO festival and is scheduled from May 11th to the 17th.

Caetano Veloso will start the festivities on opening day with a special performance from his current Abraçaço tour. He’ll be joined by fellow Brazilians Bonde Do Role, Boogarins, and Karol Conka, (the latter two are rising stars at home as they are abroad).

The festival’s partnership with Sub Pop Records will bring J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) and King Tuff to the Southern Hemisphere. The other confirmed artists are Bruna Mendez, Hellbenders, Magaly Fields, Caddywhompus, Karol Conka, Wannabee Jalva, Jaloo, Camarones Orquestra Guitarristica, Marrero, and Do Amor.

More performers plus the schedule will be announced in the weeks to come.
