Puerto Rican Bronx native Alynda Lee Segarra celebrates American grassroots under her Hurray for the Riff Raff banner, a delightful twang-infused experiment fronted by Segarra’s brassy but ultimately vulnerable voice. Based in New Orleans, Hurray for the Riff Raff celebrates its city through its music, echoing that big-sounding quaintness the South does so well.
