You may have never heard of La Dame Blanche, but you’ve definitely heard her singing. She’s the female voice on many, if not most, Sergent García recordings. Previously known by her birth name, Yaite Ramos is of Afro-Cuban royal lineage (her father is trombonist and maestro director at Buena Vista Social Club) and she frequently collaborates in the live sound system performances of Argentine ñu-cumbia pioneer El Hijo De La Cumbia.

She’s currently embarking on a solo career under the new moniker of La Dame Blanche (that’s French for The White Lady) and this is her first EP, featuring an explosive dance-floor-oriented cumbia produced by El Hijo and a few laid-back hip-hop-fusion tracks that fans of La Mala Rodríguez and Orishas will certainly love.
