If you too were waiting for the next generation’s Ana Tijoux to come out, well, look no further. These two young Peruvian femcees and their hip-hop-loving anthem are here to put their hometown Lima on the international hip-hop map.
Sky Sapiens y La Prinz are Las Damas and they’ve been around the scene since 2010. They both released their solo projects before this joint venture to be titled Primero Las Damas. Sure, the beat, flow, and overall aesthetics are definitely golden era (some would say old school) but their skills are timeless.
The number one rule of Spanish-language rap for crossing over to the international market seems to be that only the girls make it (La Mala, Ana, Danay, etc.) so, I suggest you keep an eye on these two. Maybe in a couple of years you’ll get to say “I saw them first.”
