Having had my “backpack” phase every hip-hop head eventually goes through, I learned to appreciate when a producer and MC come together to produce an entire project. The outcome is usually a more tangible, complete concept and this Unochosiete x Skeptic project is another example. These two Boricuas have created a sensual 15-minute EP where Unochosiete’s lyrics fit snuggly with Skeptic’s airy, ambient, trip-hop instrumentals. While it’s broken down into six tracks, UnochoSkeptic’s cohesiveness lends to an easy listen from start to finish, ending with a disco-house groove that lightens the mood.
