(Have you ever had Bimbo bread? That’s where the reference comes from.)

For all of those Miguel Bose fans (you know who you are, you who bought Papito!), here’s a special treat for you. His niece Bimba Bose, known for her androgynous modeling work and guest-starring in Miguel’s smash album on a new version of his classic “Como un lobo,” is also the frontwoman of The Cabriolets, who are in town for Fashion Week.

The band, a mix of soul, R&B and yes, even indie rock, with damn fine English vocals by Bimba, is also comprised of filmmaker Diego Postigo and music producer Raul Santos. Their debut album, Demo, was recorded right here in New York City in 2007 by  Andres Levin, who got them a digital deal with Warner. Demo is already on sale in Spain, where The Cabriolets were a hit last summer, and is slated to be released in the US digitally later this year.

The Cabriolets performed a short set last night at the after party for Spanish designer Devidelfin‘s Fashion Week debut show. (Bimba, who uncannily resembles David Bowie in his prime and has tattoos of ants crawling up her arms, is the face of Davidelfin’s Spring 09 collection. The designer, in turn, styles the band.) I don’t know if she’s gay, but Lindsay Lohan should reconsider tomboy Sam Ronson and check  out much hotter and stylish Bimba!

Catch The Cabriolets in their only show in NYC  tomorrow, Sunday February 15th, at the Living Room. Details in our Musica Section.
