Breaking News: Gustavo Cerati’s son debuts new project Zero Kill

Remember the first video Gustavo Cerati did in 1993 for his debut album as a solo artist that had a pregnant woman singing the chorus? Well, that woman was Cerati’s then-wife, the Chilean actress/model Cecilia Amenábar and the kid growing in her belly… that was Benito Cerati.

Fast forward twenty years and here you have an all-grown-up Benito, leading a new band, Zero Kill and presenting their first single “Automática Lunática.” For the recording of his upcoming album he had a who’s who of Soda’s extended family and Argentina’s rock royalty pitching in, including Tweety González (Soda Stereo’s keyboard player and producer), Fernando Nalé (Illya Kuryaki and Papá Cerati’s bass player) and Martín Carrizo (A.N.I.M.A.L. and later also Cerati’s band drummer).

Cerati’s influences are more than evident, as expected, and that’s definitely not a bad thing. I’m sure Soda fans are gonna love this one.
