Ivy Queen is reaching another milestone. On June 17, New York City’s emblematic venue Carnegie Hall revealed that the Puerto Rican icon will be part of their upcoming Nuestros sonidos (Our Sounds) 2024-2025 season-long festival. Ivy Queen will perform on Nov. 20. Other newly-added Latine acts participating this season include Monsieur Periné and Grupo Niche.

Nuestros sonidos: Celebrating Latin Culture in the U.S. is described as “a joyous, ongoing celebration of the vibrant sounds, pioneering rhythms, endlessly diverse traditions, and enormous influence of Latin culture in the United States, including vital contributions from the Caribbean.” Now, Ivy will be part of the mix, performing her hard-hitting Carribean anthems that span genres like reggaeton, bachata, salsa, hip-hop, and more at the Hall’s main Stern Auditorium’s Perelman Stage. This marks the reggaeton pioneer’s first time performing at the iconic New York City venue.

Though it’s not confirmed how and what songs she will perform, Ivy Queen recently reconstructed her reggaeton bangers into orchestral pieces. Last year, NPR’s El Tiny featured La Caballota performing five of her hits in a completely reimagined way. The tracks were completely reinvented with orchestra elements, which she described at the time as “out of her comfort zone. Perhaps she will continue to explore these orchestral sounds at the Carnegie Hall, home to three concert halls known for its acoustics.

Moreover, Colombia will also be present in Nuestros sonidos. Monsieur Periné and Grupo Niche are now part of the 2024-2025 program. Monsieur Periné is set to perform at the Zankel Hall on Feb. 22, 2025. Grupo Niche will perform at the Stern Auditorium’s Perelman Stage on Apr. 17, 2025.

Nuestros sonidos’ 2024-2025 season will kick off with three concerts from Oct. 8 to 10 featuring Gustavo Dudamel leading the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Latine artists like Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz (Oct. 8) and Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade (Oct. 10) will join Dudamel to celebrate the season’s opening weekend.

Tickets for Ivy Queen’s Nuestro sonidos performance will be available via artist pre-sale starting on June 17 at 12 p.m. EST to June 20 at 9 a.m. EST. Fans can use the code “FAN50000” for access. General on-sale starts on June 20 at 11 a.m. EST. For more information, visit the Hall’s official website.
