On the heels of revealing studio time with Kanye West, Big Sean, and Chance the Rapper, J Balvin continues to tease us with sneak peeks at his forthcoming album. The latest star to jump on the Ninja bandwagon is the one and only Pharrell Williams, who made an appearance on Balvin’s Instagram last night.
In the clip, Balvin whispers, “I’m here with this guy Pharrell. We’re doing something, right?” Then Pharrell proceeds to numb us with his silence and freakish inability to age. It’s not clear if Pharrell is taking on production responsibilities or recording vocals for the album, but one thing’s for sure: the reggaeton superstar knows how to fuel the hype.
The artists first met a few months ago, so perhaps this studio meet up is the fruit of that encounter. Here’s hoping Pharrell brings some Neptunes-style nostalgia to Ninja, and we don’t end up with a perreo lite take on “Blurred Lines” instead.
