Jenni Rivera will soon receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The time and location for the star unveiling ceremony was revealed on Tuesday (June 18), and will also include Mexican pop icon Gloria Trevi.

Back in 2022, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that Rivera would be honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on behalf of her iconic music career. In Dec. 2012, Rivera tragically passed away in a plane crash in Mexico. Her legacy has continued to live on through her catalog of hits on YouTube and music streaming platforms. Now, Rivera’s Walk of Fame ceremony finally has a date and location.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor the legendary Jenni Rivera with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer, shared in a statement. “Jenni’s star represents not only her incredible achievements as an artist, but also her resilience, courage, and unwavering spirit that continue to inspire fans around the world.”

Rivera’s star on the Walk of Fame will be unveiled on Thursday, June 27. Her star will be placed on Vine Street in front of the Capitol Records building in Hollywood, CA. Rivera’s children, including Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka, and Michael, will attend the ceremony and accept the Walk of Fame star on her behalf. Trevi will also be there to give a speech during the ceremony about Rivera and her enduring legacy.

In June of last year, Rivera’s children helped bring to life her posthumous album Misión Cumplida. The LP included the song “Pedacito de Mí,” which featured her daughters Chiqus and Jacqie. “This album is a representation of her whole life story and the fact that she completed what she came here to do,” Jacquie shared in a statement at the time.
