PACHA MASSIVE – “IF YOU WANT IT”
From its highly-anticipated second album, Pacha Massive is back with its latest single, the title track “If You Want It,” and they have usgrooving once again. This tiem around, leader of the pack Ramon Nova aka Nova features many artists on the album, such as Monica Rodriguez, from the New York City based band, Zigmat, and Liz Wright from Los Angeles’ Love Grenades. Yes, Pacha Massive has got you covered from coast to coast! When asked about what’s different about his new album, Nova says that he’s drawing more from his own actual experiences.
Largely influenced by the sounds and rhythms of cumbia, merengue and palo, Nova has given New York City huge credit when it comes to his sophomore album: “It’s easy to feel like a global citizen in the capital of the world, and that crosses right into our music […] anything goes; traditional and non traditional, roots or progressive” he says on the press release for the album. Listen, dance and just let go to the liberating tunes of Pacha Massive!

RUPA AND THE APRIL FISHES –
“CULPA DE LA LUNA”
Escape to an almost familiar yet never before seen paradise. Led by a beautiful nomadic Indian songstress (who leads the dual life of musician and doctor), Rupa & The April Fishes will entice you with their heartfelt lyrics, reflecting the ups and downs of everyday life and diversity of instruments, representing sounds from all over the world, including tango and cumbia.
Based in San Francisco, their name was derived from April Fool’s day, which can be tracked even further to a political and social commentary to questioning authority. Lyrically, Rupa enjoys writing on both the tangible and intangible borders we all, at some point, run into. Their upcoming album, out on October 27th on Cumbancha, is titled Este Mundo. And they’ll be on the road so be sure to check them out!
