As Latin trap continues its commercial ascent, it was only a matter of time until even more mainstream rappers jumped on the bandwagon. The latest artist to join the movement is Lil Pump, the face-tatted SoundCloud rapper behind “Gucci Gang.” The rapper, who was raised in South Florida by Colombian parents, was spotted in a Miami studio with controversial emcee Anuel AA, Spiff TV, and Sousa working on new music. “Dimelo cabrón,” says Pump in a video posted to Spiff TV’s Instagram account, before he pans to Anuel behind him.

Last year, Pump’s “Gucci Gang” prompted a massive remix featuring a parade of rap and reggaetón juggernauts; the rework featured Remy Ma, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, French Montana, Ozuna, and Gucci Mane, the godfather of trap music himself.

We’ve seen everyone from Migos to Madonna link up with Latin trap and reggaeton artists, so it only makes sense that a U.S.-born Latino like Pump would make an effort to collab with the genre’s biggest stars and reach new audiences.
