Puerto Rico Indie: You have done a great service to this at-times chaotic world. Every Tuesday this summer, the Puerto Rican culture blog will release a cover of our Lord and Savior, Ricky Martin, for a series they’ve titled Indie Martin. Artists from the local scene will potentially tackle such classics as “Volverás,” “María,” “Por arriba, por abajo,” and my karaoke tear jerker, “Fuego de Noche, Nieve de Día.” But for now we can bask in some early-era Ricky with some of our favorite Ricans, Los Wálters. The duo updated the very dated “Dime que me quieres” from Ricky’s first album.

If you haven’t watched the video for “Dime que me quieres” in a while, do your soul a favor and watch it right now. Ponytails. Hoop earrings. Leather vests. And that’s just Ricky’s wardrobe.
