On Sunday we lost Lou Reed, an artist whose influence we’ll never shake. The man understood how to turn a phrase, how to inject discomfort, unease, and beauty into his music. He knew how to make us feel without resorting to clichés and overwrought idioms. He was also the crankiest man alive. He will be missed.

Lima’s Riviere was moved to pay homage to the late Velvet Underground frontman and so we have this nostalgic cover of the classic “Perfect Day,” which originally appeared in Reed’s second solo album, the David-Bowie-produced Transformer.
