A comedy podcast was the last place we’d expect to hear a new track from Twin Shadow but that’s exactly what happened recently when the man himself appeared on Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang Bang podcast.
As Aukerman explains, a comedian friend of his turned him on to Twin Shadow after learning that his two all-time favorite artists are The Smiths and Prince. Chances are you’ll love Shadow if you dig one or the other as was the case here.
Shadow (George Lewis Jr.) played a new track titled “Locked & Loaded,” which is absolutely not what anyone was expecting. Hearing him sing with nothing but an acoustic guitar as backup is as close to a religious experience an atheist will have. Whether the studio version of the cut will be acoustic remains to be seen.
