Hailing from Miami, Locos Por Juana emerged at the start of the millennium. Since, they’ve continuously lured audiences with their pungent take on social commentary fusing it with captivating reggae grooves and hip hop beats inspired from their Afro-Colombian roots. Having earned a Grammy nomination in 2008 for Best Latin Band as well as making a presence in the blogosphere, Locos Por Juana still show that they’re still from the streets and can get funky, like in this music video. Directed by Edwin Manuel Escoboza, the video features the guys taking over the graffiti-filled streets of Miami to make some noise of Caribbean and Tropical flavors, as well as showing the city’s cultural and lively neighborhood — you’ll also notice members of the Miami-based band Elastic Bond. “Afro-Sound (remix),” featuring L.A.’s Latin fusion trio Palenke Soultribe, is a song filled with catchy bass lines, eclectic electro beats, and brassy melodies that’ll make ya skip that morning caffeine cause it’ll be your energy booster.

Locos Por Juana has released three full-length albums, including the recent Evolucion EP that previews their upcoming album Somos de la Calle. And, in courtesy of the band and Digital Girl, not only you get this video premier but a free mp3 of “Afro-Sound (remix)” below!
