Raíces: Tucson, AZ
Sounds like: The love child of Jeff Buckley, Ian McCulloch, and Devendra Banhart
You should listen to Brian Lopez because… See above!

Ladies, I hope there’s room in your hearts for another curly-haired, romantic crooner because, ready or not, Brian Lopez is coming and he’s armed with an ensemble of songs that can melt the coldest heart.

Lopez hails from Tucson, AZ and is set to release his solo debut album Ultra on March 7th. It’s 11 tracks of sweeping, sometimes-haunting, always-romantic melodies in English and Español. Lopez and his backing band make full use of their instrumentation (string section, lap steel, accordion, etc.) to create a lush sound that sounds like the soundtrack to a late-night horse ride under a full moon and starry sky on a summer night in Arizona…directed by David Lynch, of course!

Listen (and swoon) to “Montjuic,” the first single from and first track on Ultra, and gaze on his latest vid “The Killing Moon” below:
