Mexico via Brooklyn’s Meketrefe premieres his debut music video for his newest single, “La Niña” (free DL HERE) featuring the talented Priscila of Monterrey’s electro indie band Quiero Club. Shot by the video director, Paco Ibarra, this music video is visually entrancing. It envelops the cold and stoic reality of Mexico’s Ciudad Neza in an area called “Alta tension,” a part of town that is best known for it’s trash and scrap metal landfills. Priscila takes a joyride around the town with Meketrefe in an old truck for selling mattresses as they blast “La Niña” over a makeshift loud speaker that is attached to their vehicle.

The dark ugliness of the town is contrasted by Priscila’s powerful yet simplistic beauty. The song is a pleasing and sensual track that speaks of the certainty of a young woman.  It’s definitely a masterpiece and is currently getting lots of airplay and positive recognition in Mexico.

We believe that the folks on this side of the border will also embrace Meketrefe’s new video, first single off his upcoming EP, Mexican Mafia which is due for release in November.

Make sure you check out this gorgeous video. We love it!
