Miguel’s 2017 album War & Leisure was a wandering R&B opus, exploring his Latinidad and times of political turbulence. Of course, Miguel also managed to sneak in some of his classic steamy R&B, like the standout “Come Through and Chill,” which was previously released as a loosie in 2016.

The Blaxican R&B singer is still riding high on the success of the project and his charming performance at The Academy Awards with Natalia Lafourcade, and last night, he stopped by The Tonight Show to perform the album cut, with some help from legendary producer Salaam Remi and The Roots. In moody red lighting, Miguel croons as a dancer performs on a rotating stage behind him.

Earlier this year, the Los Angeles-based artist released a Spanish-language version of his hit “Sky Walker,” the most recent overture to his Latinidad after releasing his Kali Uchis collab “Caramelo Duro” and showcasing his love of sleek sarape looks. Last June, Miguel dove deeper into his Mexican roots, visiting his family in Zamora, Michoacán for the first time for an episode of Viceland’s Earthworks series.
