Later this month, Mexico D.F. will once again prove it’s a center for forward-thinking music and experimental festival organizing, as the multi-venue Festival Antes takes over the city July 25th – August 3rd. The independent not-for-profit festival, organized by a collective of producers, artists, and enthusiasts dedicated to mapping the country’s avant-garde sounds, will highlight some of the best newcomers and local talent with showcases from collectives NAAFI, Ensamble, Static Discos, NRMAL, Sicario Music, and more.
To start the 10-day marathon off right, NWLA, Remezcla, and Finesse Records are teaming up to host Antes del Antes launch party in a secret location on Thursday, July 24th, featuring headliner Raido (check out his NWLA mixtape below), representing San José, Costa Rica’s new school of hip hop, plus Tino El Pingüino, Impvlso, Boncker, and Faded, and yet to be announced performances from Finesse Records artists.
