Rock al Parque: 2012 Lineup (Bogotá, Colombia)

Forget about Lollapalooza Chile, Rock In Rio and Vive Latino. Colombia’s Rock Al Parque, one of the largest open-air festival in Latin America and in the world, will return this year for its 17th annual installment. Festival organizers have been teasing fans with a number of announcements about the line-up over the past few days with the slogan “La Fuerza De La Diversidad.” They’re not kidding about the diversity either. In these first two video announcements, artists include Charly García, NOFX, Vader, Inquisition, Bigott, Systema Solar, Vicente Gayo (the Mexican indie band featuring Vincent Gallo’s Mexican look-alike) and a handful of others.

This year’s festival, curated, as always, by La Alcaldía Mayor de Bogota, Bogotá Humana and the Instituto Distrital de las Artes, takes place from June 30th – July 2nd. In other words, Rock al Parque is as big as Coachella but as diverse as SXSW. Oh, and one final kicker: the event is absolutely FREE. Suck it, Goldenvoice! Head over to the festival’s website to keep track of the latest announcements.
