Peruvian quartet Serpentina Satélite recently released their last two albums for free download. Now you can get a full taste of Peru’s hardest working kraut-rock, avant-avengers as they protest SOPA in psychedelic style. Trailing waves grind agains ears and thumb up against the back of throats throughout. Their dangerousness is quelled only by their accessibility, their adventurousness unmarred by their haughtiness. This tripsters are heavy, smashing it down with calamitous cadence, and a persistance only comparable to Venezuela’s avant-art collective, Tan Frío el Verano. The limited offering of tracks on Nothing to Say (2008) is followed up well by their 2010 release of Mecánica Celeste. The kind of music you’d expect in any zombie film or TV/ comic book ripped series. Enjoy the haunting ride. Musicality and theatricality seem to tinge off every chord, every strum, ever fiber of these albums.
