Exciting news! We have partnered with BMI for our second annual Official SXSW Showcase, which will take place Wednesday, March 17th 2010 at Mi Casa Cantina in downtown Austin. Since its St Patrick’s Day, we’ve dubbed the show Verde Wednesday, and ages 18 and over are open to witness the awesome performances and indulge in the best tamales in town.

Maluca, Volovan, Vicente Gayo, Palenke Soultribe, Maneja Beto, and La Santa Cecilia, will all be performing live, representing our  hand-picked selection of Latin music’s freshest batch of new voices. What better occasion to have them all together than at South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival?

Maluca
NY, NY
Hits the stage at 1am

Born Natalie Yepez in the Lower East Side and raised in the Bronx, Maluca exploded at SXSW last year after wowing the demanding crowds of the Levis Fader Fort and the Mad Decent afterparty (us included.) We’re thrilled to have Maluca headline our showcase this year. Her catchy techno merengue tracks, fierce style and fun attitude have made her a sensation  at underground clubs around the US and even Europe. Quoth thee: “Keep your eyes open and platanos peeled for the self-proclaimed “1/2 dominican 1/2 Pain in the ass”.”

The cleverly-named Vicente Gayo will be touring around the US after their Remezcla.com/BMI SXSW performance and then will be part of Mexico’s prestigious Vive Latino Festival.
