PLOP Radio has become one of the most trusted voices in Mexico when it comes to finding and sharing new music from across the country. The blog and its founder, Erich E. Mendoza, have already taken things to the next level by organizing shows to bring underground talent to eager audiences.

His second foray in this territory, Primavera PLOP Radio, was a who’s who of the Mexican indie landscape today, bringing established voices like Lng/SHT, Hey Chica!, and O Tortuga together with up-and-comers like Mint Field, Vaya Futuro, Nelson y Los Filisteos, and Young Tender. Ever since that show in January of this year, Mint Field have played Coachella, Vaya have been playing stages like Ruido Fest, Viva Pomona, LAMC, and Liverpool Psych. Nelson are planning an international tour and Young Tender have had high-profile gigs. Now, PLOP are presenting the end-of-summer party to end all parties.

Verano PLOP Radio is bigger than previous events, bringing together an bill with international and local talent in an all-day affair. Spain’s El Último Vecino is one of three headliners from abroad (joining DIIV and Beach Fossils), returning to Mexico after their triumphant set at last year’s NRMAL.

The rest of the lineup features Mexican talent from all backgrounds and several cities across the country. Hawaiian Gremlins are on the verge of becoming an essential band in the DF scene, thanks to their evolution from carefree slackers to psychedelic goths, Policias y Ladrones come blazing from Tijuana with their youthful garage rock sound while Jóvenes Adultos keep guitars popping and angular rhythms jerking. Culiacán’s Pure Morning are an enclave in the Sinaloa indie scene, thanks to their work behind Emma’s House Records and their shoegaze-inflected pop. Homegrown’s Alemán is fast becoming one of the nation’s strongest voices in hip-hop, while EXNOVIAS gives Diego Puerta another outlet in addition to his unstoppable Dromedarios Mágicos moniker, this time dabbling in synth pop with Alberto Bustillos.

The eclectic bill is sure to have something for everyone. Verano PLOP Radio will be hosted at Avenida Constituyentes 500, Lomas Altas, on Saturday, September 10. Tickets as well as further details are available at this link. Check out the flyer below.
