BIA popped on our radar this past Friday after seeing her Karmaloop directed video for “La Tirana.” Not sure if the video is a teaser, but clocking just under two minutes it left us wanting to hear more. Mixing Spanglish, trap, and braggadocios bars, “La Tirana” is the first release off her upcoming EP.
There isn’t much on the web about BIA but what we do know is the 20-something, self proclaimed ‘Perico Princess’ is signed to Pharrell’s i am OTHER label and is set to star in a reality show coming this summer on the OXYGEN channel called “Sisterhood of Hip Hop,” executively produced by T.I. With all these heavy hitters involved, not to mention an Instagram following of over 16K, we’re paying attention. Until then, listen to her Soundcloud to get familiar.
