A few weeks ago we premiered Javiera Mena’s kitschy, retro style video for her song “Espada,” and we were totally feeling the Lisa Frank/Miami Vice/Saved By The Bell vibes. The retro-futuristic world of “Espada” was brought to life by the work of visual artist Josep Prat Sorolla, and he makes it look real easy.

Sorolla is an illustrator, animator, graphic designer, and artist living in Barcelona, Spain, and has lent his striking aesthetic to gorgeous music videos (see ORAX and M83), fashion campaigns, and high-end magazine spreads. But like the true ’90s baby he is, he stays true to his roots with his super Tumblr/Internet/#seapunk graphics that make our world go ’round. So yeah, you should definitely check him out:

We also like his stuff because we know for sure that super babe Kelly Kapowski would approve and that’s plenty enough reason for us.
