Last year, Festival WACO lit up Torreón, Coahuila with an A-plus lineup and setting, becoming a sleeper hit in the Latin American live event circuit. Now’s the time to get excited again because the good people at WACO have announced this year’s lineup.
WACO is a very important festival in Mexico not just because of the lineup or the good times attendees are bound to have; the fest is held in Torreón, a city that has seen tragedy and violence take a high toll on the population. WACO and the music scene it celebrates have become an act of resistance in the face of despair.
Topping the bill are Spanish acts Sau Poler and Awwz, Sunsplash from Venezuela and El Búho from the United Kingdom. Rounding up the lineup is an eclectic bunch of Mexican talent including indie romantic Caloncho, dream trapper Trillones, garage firestarters O Tortuga, electro pop breakout act Sotomayor, indie hip-hop MVP LNG/SHT, and many more.
