Known for remaking their indie rock favorites into a brand new fusion of traditional Latin rhythms, these music masterminds give us a live take of the cool essence of alt-salsa. Lead by percussionist/arranger Gianni Mano and fronted by Argentine chanteuse Solange Prat, the 11-piece band have bravely taken on heavyweights like Arcade Fire, Santigold, The Mars Volta, Animal Collective, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem to name a few, and next the classic “Young Folks” by Peter, Bjorn & John gets the pick for this lovely music video premiere. Directed by Gianni himself, the clip feels like you’re hanging out with the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra during their rehearsal for a personal performance, as you then swarm with all your friends to show off your salsa moves along this contagious ditty.
