In 2018, influential Argentine imprint ZZK Records is celebrating a decade of bringing the region’s electronic dance music and traditional South American sounds to the world. What started as the Zizek Club nights in Buenos Aires in 2006 quickly evolved into a full-fledged label two years later, and it hasn’t slowed down ever since. ZZK has been key to breaking the careers of Chancha Via Circuito, Nicola Cruz, and Frikstailers, and now includes projects like Mitú, Uji, Mateo Kingman, and EVHA in its ranks and as part of its sub-label AYA Records. It’s clear the crew is still committed to creating spaces for innovative Latin American musical and visual projects on the international circuit.

For its 10-year anniversary, ZZK Records has taken the celebration on the road, with a series of showcases around the U.S. The tour kicked off on June 15 in Pittsburgh and is soon landing in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle.

The tour is bringing three artists from the ZZK roster who best represent the label’s current offerings. Fresh from the release of his second full-length, King Coya is bringing trusty partners Queen Cholas to present his explosive live set to U.S. audiences, while future folk singer and producer Dat García, the label’s first female is artist, is performing music from her 2017 debut album Maleducada. ZZK head honcho Grant Dull is joining the party with his globe-trotting DJ set as El G.
