Given the fact that Major Lazer‘s “Lean On” draws on the Latin-derived moombahton sound, the number of remixes and fresh takes coming from artists skilled in other Latin and tropical sounds isn’t too surprising. So it makes sense that Argentina’s Cumbia Drive gave the global pop smash a cumbia rework. By replacing the original’s moombah-driven groove with a much more organic cumbia sweep, the track certainly feels more spacious. But check out the cowbell that sneaks into the bottom end of the mix.
