We already knew that our favorite Boricua Tumblr rapper never takes a day off, and his latest track is proof. After dropping two other collaborations earlier this month, Álvaro Díaz has shared a velvety new single in anticipation of his upcoming Diaz Buenos, Diaz Malos project. On “Sabor a Ti,” Díaz continues to explore the more soulful corners of his sound, as evidenced on his latest cut (and the jazz rap leanings of “Medusa,” which dropped earlier this year). This time around, Díaz samples Kali Uchis’ smoky cover of El Chicano’s version of the classic bolero, and flips the first-person lyrics to great sadboy effect. Álvaro spits over pitched down samples and raps about 4 a.m. drunk dials, while snippets of Uchis’ featherlight croons peek out from the Orteez-produced beat.
