Last year, Bodega Bamz made waves with hip-hop supergroup No Panty, whose album Westside Highway Story was no doubt one of the year’s underrated hits. Backed by Nitty Scott and Joell Ortiz, the record recalled classic NYC hip-hop storytelling with delectable ease. Today, Bamz is back with a brand new single from his forthcoming album PAPI, or Proud and Powerful Individualz.

As a self-described pioneer of Latin trap, Bamz has continued to stand his ground in the movement as it has proliferated across the U.S. and Latin America. As he told Remezcla in 2016, “I don’t care if nobody knows that they got it from me. I’m always trying to create algo nuevo.”

“Young & Living Out of Order” finds him returning to the game, but this time with a twist: a soaring production from none other than R&B singer-songwriter A.CHAL. On the track, stadium-sized synths resemble church organs, which Chal garnishes with an addictive hand-clap hook. It’s Bodega’s poppy ode to champagne dreams, and a toast to the journey he embarked on with his Tanboys crew.
