Over the summer, Boss in Drama and Karol Conka, two of Brazil’s dance music juggernauts, re-teamed to make our turn up dreams come true with the deliciously funky “Lista VIP.” After a million listens and a live lyric video, we now have a proper music video companion to the decadent disco track. The video couples Boss In Drama’s glitzy disco production with a scene right out of Studio 54, complete with hangers-on and in-their-own-head celebrities.
The track itself references disco by featuring tons of horns and strings, and remains current in its use of drum loops and bars from pink-haired firecracker MC Karol Conka. In her signature style, Conka’s lyrics are high-energy and fun, always suggesting she’s halfway through a giggle and having the time of her life. As they first proved on “Toda Doida,” Boss In Drama and Karol Conka are a match made in heaven, pied pipers leading you to the dance floor.
