One of the many fine moments in salsa history comes in the first few seconds of Rubén Blades 1978 album Siembra, in collaboration with Willie Colón. The intro of “Plástico” heavily references the sound of disco music, and it’s like gold for remixers. Venezuelan producer Ferraz knows this, and he is giving away for free his take on the track.

He transports the song to the house area, with little variations. The dynamics are dictated by moving filters and elements that come in and out of the scene. The bass line and those strings fit like a glove, and the final result is something that could easily sit into a Daft Punk set.
