It’s harder and harder for an indie label to make it these days, but that’s no reason for Foehn Records to throw in the towel. The cult Barcelona imprint is marking its 15th anniversary with a 44-track compilation of musical highlights.

Foehn started in 2001 as a small indie operation of six partners, now spearheaded by longtime partner Marc Campillo. The label is dedicated to highlighting intimate works from offbeat pop, rock, and electronic artists. Foehn found acclaim early on with releases by acts like Balago, Apeiron, and Úrsula, and now boasts a roster that includes critic favorites and festival regulars such as BeGun, Oso León, and Baywaves, among many others. Campillo has said time and again that Foehn is not in it for the money (or lack of it), but rather for the passion these musicians put into their craft.

The label has put out a compilation simply titled Foehn XV Aniversario, which culls from almost 90 releases to showcase the best the label offers year in and year out. It’s a hefty and potentially daunting gift, but with patience, you’ll find more than one track to love from artists who may have flown under your radar. Few musical endeavors that have lasted as long as Foehn can consistently match its quality, so don’t sleep on this.

Here’s to 15 more!
