Collaborations between big electronic music producers and pop stars are more frequent than ever, and they won’t stop anytime soon (we are still recovering from that Maná/Steve Aoki collab, and now there’s a Belinda/Steve Aoki one about to come out). But the new RL Grime and Miguel track still feels unexpected. The LA producer and DJ just released “Stay for It” ahead of his upcoming North American tour this fall, and it follows the same expansive, cinematic EDM style as his long-awaited comeback track “Reims.”

“Stay for It” is signature RL Grime: earth-shaking trap full of larger-than-life build-ups and even bigger drops. This time, it’s soaked in shimmering rave synths and trance arpeggios that burst in an EDM splash of joy. Miguel’s vocal performance sounds committed and powerful, especially on a simple but tremendously effective hook. This is definitely festival material.

If you’re a diehard RL fan, check your mail – earlier this week he sent out a very limited run of his NOVA zine, which includes an interview with Miguel himself, as well as some other insightful goodies.
