A New Mix From Nguzunguzu’s Asma Maroof Sounds Like a Noah’s Ark of Club Music

It’s been awhile since we last got a mix from Nguzunguzu‘s Asma Maroof (aka MA), but that doesn’t mean she has been slacking off. Let’s remember this year’s awesome Future Brown debut album, as well as her production credits on “Gomenasai,” a track off Kelela‘s latest Hallucinogen EP. Plus, she’s just become Total Freedom’s successor as the Mustache Mondays resident DJ, now held at The Globe Theater in downtown LA. Phew! She’s got a lot to celebrate, and thanks to her new MA MIX UP 2015 mix, we can too.

The mix is a 37-minute genre-hopping bomb, jumping effortlessly from Dutch reggaeton to Miami bass to dancehall to bounce music and much, much more. It’s packed with her own edits and gems from Kingdom, Fetty Wap, Faith Evans (!), Teyana Taylor, DJ Spooky, and a long list of many more. Don’t miss her flipping The-Dream and mashing up Travis Scott with that Kelela track we mentioned. Throw together some Jersey club, ballroom, and tons of hip-hop, and this is what you get.
