Premiere: Juan Wauters Teases New LP With “Alguien Le Va A Disparar”

Juan Wauterssinger for Queens-based garage-folk band the Beets, is no Latino doppelganger of John Waters. Lucky for all of you, you’ll get to know Wauters better in a few months when he releases his second full-length solo album Who, Me?

Alguien le va a disparar” – a sweet, 60s folk-inflected tune – is the latest single off the album and a Spanish take on his English original, “Might Get Shot,” which was inspired by Julio Cortázar’s novel Rayuela. An Uruguay-native, Wauters adopted Jackson Heights as his new home over 10 years ago, and has been repping the Ingles and the Español in equal doses ever since.
