Way before Remezcla, Dominicans had Remolacha.net. Remolacha is where you can find the latest on politics, pelota, Fefita La Grande, tituá, music, economy, segunda bases, science, music, humor, yaroas in New York, chismes, food, film, consejos, technology, and more. It’s like your one tío who has a doctorate in Everyday Life Science and somehow knows everything.

Since we’re in the holiday mood, we’ve asked Remo del Orbe, Remolacha founder and potentially the most influential Dominican in the diaspora, to share what x-mas is like at his place. In his own words, Remo describes Navidad pa’lla en el campo, and also decided to share some Navidance music with us.

“In my home, we stick with the classic merengues. We do deviate from tradition. After stuffing our faces with pastelitos, pernil, and moro de guandules, we sit and bump Teodoro Reyes’ 1994 album Sentimientos. It’s the ultimate sing-a-long and drinking album. Hope everyone has a feliz Navidad.”
