Referred to as “screwmbia,” it’s “very Texas” when the track’s melody pitches down and the chopped, not-slopped stylings weave their way through half-time trap breaks. Impressively adventurous in how they address taking pop’s latest EDM darling and applying it to traditional Latin genres, this is actually ambitious in concept, but pleasantly executed to perfection. A sonic portal has been opened here that should be explored with greater depth and scope.
