Zion Y Lennox’s Hit Gets EDM-Friendly Remix

Veteran Puerto Rican reggaeton balladeers Zion y Lennox‘s 2015-released single, “Pierdo La Cabeza,” certainly comes as advertised (i.e. it’s about losing one’s mind when falling in love). However, what may cause more minds to be lost lies in Washington, DC-based Los XL‘s new moombahton remix of the track. He uses EDM-friendly production to toss a seductive dembow into the lower end and deftly chops the original’s euphoric builds to create a stuttering energy, punctuated by synth stabs. Whereas the original may have wanted to aim for the festival stage, Los XL keeps this one’s underground roots present, but with enough wiggle in the groove to make it danceable in any environment.
