Sweden-based DJ duo Cocotaxi–a collaborative project between childhood friends Alex and Frederik–bring us a preview of their forthcoming Sucre EP out on NYC-global collective Dutty Artz this April. The project is an Andean-digital tribute to Sucre, Bolivia, where Alex’s father hails from, and which the duo visited together a few years back.

Today, we bring you the premiere of “Cielos,” a reverb-building, glitched-out cumbia andina that glides through digitized electro-altiplano references. The track is a glimpse of what’s to come on the new EP, which will include remixes from Italy’s The Clerk, San Antonio’s Sonora, and current Rio resident, Chief Boima.

Don’t miss Cocotaxi at Vive Latino this weekend, set for an appearance on Friday, March 13th where they’ll share the Gozadero tent with Remezcla favorites Sotomayor, MC Peligro, Zonora Point, Mr. Pauer, and El Hijo de la Cumbia.
