Our dark dembow favorites Svntv Mverte are stepping into 2015 with an edit that’s an effortless matching of hip-hop and dembow of yore– a “kind of total eclipse of the truest Texas,” as coined by Remezcla’s Eric Gamboa. The duo revive an early Farruko and Ñengo track “Cositas Raras,” meeting right in the middle with Chris Brown’s “Loyal” over that infamous Nic Nac beat. It’s simple solution for those dance floor heating moments– right in the middle of recognizable, but not typically connected reference points.

If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and listen to the duo’s exclusive Día de los Muertos mixtape, exploring an underworld where reggaeton acapellas, grime instrumentals, Bobby Shmurda beats, and Dirty South anthems collide.
