Maifersoni has had quite the year, returning from a 5-year hiatus by inking a deal with the hottest record label in Chile, Quemasucabeza, and dropping his sophomore album, Maiferland (un acto de amor). On Tuesday, he hit us with the visuals for “Invocación,” the second single off the LP and the track he considers to be “the best composition on the record.”
It follows a woman on a dreamy, trippy road trip through Central Chile. With the soft, ethereal sound of “Invocación” as her soundtrack, the listener is cast under a dream-like spell, and wakes up in the mind of the traveler. We are able peer into her altered states of perception as she travels through the country. With these beautiful, distorted imagery of forests, mountains, and sunsets, the Chilean musician pays homage to his country.
