Percussive carnival vibes dominate “Tambores,” the latest single from Brazil-to-Brooklyn artist Zuzuka Poderosa. Having already been featured on a March episode of the CW Network’s Jane The Virgin, the track bears Zuzuka’s familiar baile/club “carioca bass” sound. But by incorporating more of a samba beat – which blends well with Zuzuka’s sensual flow – the track feels a bit more organic than her more recent material. Add in a lushly-styled video featuring designer Sheena Sood‘s urban/island abacaxi fashion line, plus fanciful dance moves and it’s a winner. Described by the artist herself as “an explosion of color, pattern, rhythm and dance, the track is her ode to “the beauty of cross-cultural exchange and the spirit of warmer climates.”
